Biji-biji Ethical Fashion's very own superhero championing urban waste Management in Kuala Lumpur.
Scene: Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival 2014
Mission: Turning banners into amazing products
Biji-biji is actively pursuing a mindset change in the city about how we look at waste materials. We are in the midst of developing a series of useful items that can be upcycled from things we throw away. We made tote bags, pouches, bean bags, stools & even a bag that could turn into a vertical garden from waste materials such as seatbelts and banners.
Now it was time to spread the message to Kuala Lumpur to raise awareness about sustainability and social inclusion. Banner Man was born, from our humble residence in Harmony Hub 1, Bistari when he went into a lucid dream after working too hard in the day designing using banners and in his dream he got hit with a banner.
We Make Things: Once, when we were given a challange to make VIP door gifts which also needed a fancy bag and on a budget. Our solutions was a bag which is also the end product itself. You could transform the bag into a vertical garden for your home and grow your own food!
Check out our open source Merak Banner Tote Bag. Perfect for daily use, groceries shopping or even a water resistant beach bag!
